5th Big Band Sunday

FEBRUARY 10, 2013 AT 10:30 A.M.

BIG BAND CARDOn Sunday, February 10, at 10:30 a.m., Big Band Swing returns to Trinity United Methodist Church in Mount Prospect. The service will feature a “big band” of Trinity members and other local musicians.

According to band leader Thomas Weaver, the musical offerings will combine sacred tunes and texts and congregational singing with the Swing beat of the Big Band era of the 1930s and 1940s.

The congregation will be led in worship by Pastor Daniel L. Swinson. The Chancel Choir, led by Tyrone H. Mitchell, Sr., will also provide music. A freewill offering is received as part of worship.

Pastor Swinson notes that “Big Band Sunday” is in keeping with Trinity’s practice of providing worship services with an eclectic mix of musical styles. Each Saturday at 5:00 p.m., Trinity offers its “Upward Call” service, featuring contemporary music and the church’s Infinite Journey praise band, led by Russell Carroll.

Trinity United Methodist Church is located in Mount Prospect at 605 W. Golf Road, between Busse and Elmhurst Roads. Free parking, nursery care, and Sunday School are available.
