2016 WOMEN’S RETREAT – LAVENDER SPRINGS SPA
SAVE THE DATE – March 18 & 19!  Get away from the busy-ness of life as you relax with friends, share laughter and stories, and spend time with God.  Lavender Springs Spa is a relaxing spa-themed retreat the women of our church, and their friends, are doing together.  It includes worship, Bible study, time for laughter, as well as time for quiet reflection.  We’ll be focusing on the book of Psalms and will be encouraged by God’s faithfulness and love.  Contact:  Wendi Thourson, wendichicago@yahoo.com, 815-519-9386, for more details or to save your spot.

REQUEST FOR FELLOWSHIP
Paula Helberg, Jud Strickland’s daughter, has put out a request for cards, notes, phone calls, and even (pre-scheduled) visits for her dad out in Geneva, IL.  Regarding Trinity, Paula writes, “Jud considers his friends there to be among his very best, and I know he would love to hear from as many as possible.”  Who’s up for this ministry?
Mr. Jud Strickland

“GOING TO SERVE”

LITURGISTS and GREETERS NEEDED FOR 8:10 & 10:30 SERVICES
Share the beauty and joy of our weekly services with others in a deeper way – volunteer to be a Liturgist or Greeter.  Liturgists play a very important role in the worship service and Greeters perform the vital function of welcoming both new and established congregants into our faith community.  You can make a “once-every-month,” a “once-in-while,” or a “permanent substitute” commitment, as your schedule and interest permit.  Thank you!

LAY CARING MINISTRY
Has God gifted you with the graces of compassion and caring for others?  Several have expressed an interest in serving as trained Lay Caring Ministers at Trinity UMC.  Lay Caring Ministers assist the pastor in providing pastoral care to the sick and shut-in; this includes daily prayer for those on our special prayer list, sending cards of remembrance, making phone calls, or visiting. A future information session is being planned.  If you are interested in learning more and serving in this special way, please contact Rev. Colleen or Martin in the office.
