SUMMER CHILL UPDATE
The Summer Chill has been going on for two weeks now and the youth of Trinity seem to be enjoying themselves quite a lot! In our first four meetings we have barbecued, talked about what it means to be a United Methodist, participated in outdoor activities, such as, kickball, softball, and basketball. We also helped out at WINGS and even read our Bibles.
We were very lucky to have Arnie Sodermark, Charlie Mickelson, Claude Bjork, Morris Pumphrey, and Lillian Abramson sit with the Youth this past Tuesday to share with us what their experiences were like having lived/served during World War II. Their visit with us was to prepare us for our first outside trip from church, which will be to the Holocaust Museum in Skokie IL.
We have had a great time so far and are looking forward to keeping this positive momentum going.
Do you have any questions? If so, please contact Scott Mays, Cindy Kiel, or Brian Hendricks with any questions you may have. We meet most Tuesdays and Fridays – please feel free to stop in and say hello if you see us at church. Thank you.

NEW ART EVENT
Have you seen the new art displays hanging on some of the walls around the church?
Last month, Jacki Bogolia approached Barb Gonyo with the idea of using selected church wall space to display art. They discussed the possibility of this project and came up with ideas and means of accomplishing this wonderful way of beautifying blank walls and giving artists the opportunity to share their talents.
Jack Verhasselt did a terrific job installing "The Walker System", which is used in museums and galleries. The Walker System provides a hanging system that allows us not to make holes in the walls whenever there is a change of a painting or photograph. Paintings and photography need to be framed and have wires on the back for hanging purposes.
The Walker Hanging System has been donated to the Church as a gift.
Part of the hanging system are lower pieces that will display the art created by children of Trinity. These can be attached by stick pins and easily removed or moved. Our budding young artists will get the chance to show what they are capable of creating!
There will be space for quilters to display their beautiful pieces. We are considering how to display pottery and sculpting. As always, we welcome suggestions.
Artists, photographers and quilters have the opportunity to offer their works for sale. All sales will be arranged directly with the artist. An agreement will be made with the artist if they have a sale that a donation of 30% of the sale would go to Trinity. The dona tions will be for use of Trinity and the Fine Arts Ministry.
We welcome any suggestions how to get the word out and to let people see the creativity of our Trinity family.
The current artwork is located in the:
- hallway from the Narthex to the Nursery.
- east wall outside the Nursery.
- west wall by the elevator, south of theNursery.
- wall along Trinity Hall.
All suggestions to help promote the Trinity Gallery will be welcomed and considered. Artists can contact Barb Gonyo or Jerry Hug if they want to display their work. Come and enjoy the Trinity Gallery!
2010 GREEN LAKE RETREAT

MUSICAL OPPORTUNITIES
We are blessed with so many musical talents at Trinity!
Our new string ensemble joins Trinity Big Band, Praise Band, adult and children's choir and bells, Woodwind ensemble, Saxophone group and the many soloists and soundboard team members who contribute so much to the weekly worship services.
If you have musical gifts to share, we would love to hear from you. Are you a musician? Are you interested in helping to organize and/or lead a small group of musicians? Want to sing in a choir or ring in kids or adult bells? Have you ever wondered what it takes to run the sound board?
We'd love to hear from you! Contact Ty Mitchell, Pastor Dan or Marjorie Mays.
