Feed My Starving Children

Feed My Starving Children is a non-profit Christian organization committed to feeding God’s starving children who are hungry in body and spirit. The approach is simple: children and adults hand-pack meals formulated specifically for starving children, and FMSC ships the meals to nearly 70 countries around the world. A single meal costs 24 cents to produce.

Who can pack? The minimum age is 5 years old with an adult. Groups of children and youth who meet the student-to-adult ratios are welcome. Tasks for volunteers who prefer to remain seated are available. How much time will it take? About 2 hours.

When can I pack? Trinity youth have committed to packing on the first Friday of the month at the 6:00-7:30 p.m. shift. Adults are encouraged to accompany the youth on Fridays to help us meet our student-to-adult ratio. Families and individuals can reserve a spot online at www.fmsc.org. Often, if you just show up at the beginning of a shift, space is available.

The results? Trinity folk of all ages have packed meals every month since October – enough food to feed more than 80 children for an entire year!

FMSC food-packing groups are one of the easiest and most fun ways families and adults of all ages can live our Trinity UMC mission of gathering in Christian community, growing in faith and going to serve. I hope you will consider taking yourself, your children or grandchildren to a packing event next month.

Where is FMSC? The Schaumburg facility is located about 5 miles west of the church, north of Golf Road at 1072 National Parkway.
