Christianity After Religion: The End of Church and the Birth of a New Spiritual Awakening
I am spiritual but not religious.  Huh?  Sound the alarm: only 20% of the population attend church each weekend! The number of Americans who do not attend church increased 92% since 1991! The number of Islamic mosques in America has increased 25% since 1994! Adherents to Buddhism have increased 170% in a decade! The fastest growing religion is Wicca! Only 27% say the Bible represents the actual word of God! (Bass, 2012)  Is Christianity a dying religion? What does all of this mean for the church?  For my family? For America? Rev. Dr. Diana Butler Bass examines the data and trends.  She shares a hope-filled vision for a renewed faith that stays true to the real message of Jesus.  Watch an interview with Dr. Butler Bass and join the conversation in the Contemporary Issues class Sunday, April 17 at 9:00 a.m.
