Hang in there!

robin in snow 2Winter is winding down, but with a few bumps on the road.  I have not put the snow blower or shovels away yet.

Last Sunday, even as I was not able to find our painted robin for the pulpit, I had several folks who said that they saw robins out-side.  The tough early arrivers are already starting their Spring thing.

Have you noticed how much easier it is to see robins against the snow than in the greenery?  They stand out against the contin-ued cold as a defiant harbinger of warmer weather.

Lent is coming.  The word Lent comes from the Latin for long, because the days are getting longer.  I have been fiddling more with the timer for our lights at the parsonage because there is more sunlight later in the day.

So keep hanging in.  Spring will get here.  This July, when we are tempted to complain about the hot weather, let’s remind each other, at least it’s not the Winter of 2014.

By the grace of God, we will get past this winter.
