Our Contemporary Issues class is Trinity’s forum for discussion and conversation of current events and issues as they affect the Christian community.
The Contemporary Issues Class will start on Sunday, September 18 at 9:15 am in the Fireside Room.
What does the debt ceiling, childhood obesity, Illinois Tollway increases, a new casino in Des Plaines, and the Republican presidential candidates have in common? The answer to that question and others will be revealed in the Contemporary Issues class starting September 18 at 9:15 in the Fireside Room.
The Contemporary Issues Class will have a slightly different format this year with a rotating moderator.
A signup sheet for anyone interested in moderating a session is on the table in the narthex. The current schedule runs through the end of December. Trinity UMC has purchased a subscription to the Wired Word which is a selected topic, information, and questions on current news issues available each week. This resource will be helpful to anyone interested in moderating but hesitating because of a lack of a topic.
Paul Brezinski will moderate the September 18 and October 2 classes. Please join us and if anyone has any questions about the Contemporary Issues Class please contact Paul Brezinsk.
Please look for posts in the Contemporary Issues Category in the sidebar on the right for week-to-week topics of discussion.
