On Sunday, April 30, at 10:30 a.m., Big Band Swing returns to Trinity United Methodist Church in Mount Prospect. The service will feature a seventeen-piece “big band” of Trinity members and other local musicians.
According to band leader Thomas Weaver, the musical offerings will combine sacred tunes and texts and congregational singing with the Swing beat of the Big Band era of the 1930s and 1940s.
The congregation will be led in worship by Pastor Colleen M. Norman. The Chancel Choir, led by Tyrone H. Mitchell, Sr., will also provide music. A freewill offering is received as part of worship.
