She will be preaching in worship and leading us in our Church (Charge) Conference at 12:30 p.m. ALL are welcome to join us for this annual church meeting—we will be in Trinity Hall and a sandwich lunch is provided (free will offering).
The Rev. Darneather Murph-Heath serves as the Elgin District Superintendent of the Northern Illinois Conference of The United Methodist Church. One of her sayings is: “God is faithful; and I just want to be found faithful!”
Rev. Murph-Heath was ordained as a Deacon (Probationary Member) in 1996 and an Elder in full connection in 1998. During her ministry she has served Norwood Park (now New Hope), Northwestern District and Gorham, Chicago southern District both located in Chicago; and Crystal Lake: First as Associate Pastor and Our Saviour’s as Lead Pastor in Schaumburg, both located in the Elgin District. She counts both Rust Memorial UMC and New Gresham UMC as her church homes (Chicago Southern District). Rev. Murph-Heath continues her ministry as a District Superintendent with another motto which is, “Loving God and loving God’s people!” Rev. Murph-Heath’s other love is her family, especially her daughter Tamara Natay Heath.
Her background includes working for the Illinois Secretary of State’s Office as a Supervisor prior to answering the call to ministry, and as a Liaison for the former State Representative Harold Murphy of Markham, Illinois.
