Trinity Families Gathering, Growing, Serving…

christian-communityGathering in Christian Community

As we gather this Sunday, January 10 we celebrate Jesus’ baptism and remember that God claims each of us as children of God.   We also renew our commitment to support the Church in 2016 with our prayers, presence, gifts, service and witness.  Join us for worship at 8:10 and 10:30 am.

…and the Holy Spirit came down on him in bodily form like a dove. And there was a voice from heaven: “You are my Son, whom I dearly love.” Luke 3:22 (CEB)

Jesus was baptized by his cousin John.  At that moment, God claimed Jesus, he claimed God, and  Jesus’ ministry to the world began.  Baptism is a sacrament ordained by Christ.  It represents a gift from God and our response to that gift. God freely offers us active grace and saving love, a spiritual home in the Church, new life as God’s adopted children, forgiveness for all our sins, the promise of salvation, the gifts of love, joy, peace and kindness.  Baptism is the beginning of a lifelong process of growth in Christ.  If you or your child have not yet received this gift, perhaps now is the time to claim it!
