Mount Prospect Community Band– will present a Christmas Concert Saturday, December 9th at 4:30. In conjunction with the concert, the UMW will have their annual Cookie Walk and Craft Sale in the Narthex from 3:00 – 6:00pm. Crafts will still be set up for sale on Sunday 8:00 am – 12:30 am. Let’s support the Community Band and the UMW.

Lay Academy is a wonderful training/leadership development opportunity for any growing Christian. Sponsored by our United Methodist Elgin District, the event will be held at First United Methodist Church of Elgin, Nov 4 and 18, 8:30-3. The fee is $40. Deep Blue Kids Hangout with Miss Carmen in the Art Room between services, 9-10:00 am.
Deep Blue Kids in the Kitchen meet this Sunday, Oct. 29 at 10:45 am. Children and YCOS students in 6th-12th grades are invited to gather in Fellowship Hall after the Children’s Message for food, music, crafts and activities related to a Bible story. The theme will be “David Dances” (2 Samuel 6:1-19).
Readers Theater – several young people have expressed interest in drama and Readers Theater in worship. They are looking for one or two adults to meet with them and guide the preparations. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org

SERVICE PROJECT SUNDAY for PADS and the Troops was last Sunday. Here are the stats: 41 young people + 6 adults wrapped 40 gifts, decorated 32 thank you cards, and made 23 Welcome placemats! Thank you, all. The next Service Project Sunday will be Nov. 26.
Christmas Card Project– It is that time of year again! Will you help with this project again this year? It is a simple as signing cards with your first name and adding a short message. There is a detailed hand out in the Narthex with very important information regarding the Christmas Card project due November 1st. If you have any questions, please contact Martha Helm 847-398-2450
Coat Drive – Once again, we will be holding a coat drive this fall. We are looking for clean and gently worn men’s, women’s and children’s coats. All coats collected will be donated to PADS, so they will stay local. We will begin collecting November 3rd through November 12th. A table will be set up for the collection. If you have scarves, hats, gloves, etc. PADS will be accepting those donations as well. Please let all your friends and neighbors know! WINGS provides counseling and support for families and victims of domestic violence. To help with groceries, bring rice, toilet paper, snacks, juice boxes, coffee, tea & cereal to the blue WINGS bin in the Narthex. Also requested are seasonal decorations for Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. (WINGS: Women In Need Growing Stronger)
PADS & PIZZA – Students in 6th-12 grade meet Friday, October 27 at 4:30 pm. Pick up at 6:30.
Christmas Gifts – For many years people at Trinity have been buying Christmas gifts for needy children. This year we will be coordinating with ChildServ. On Sunday, November 12th, between services and after the 2nd service, you will have the opportunity to choose a child and help make a holiday wish come true. Gifts must be brought to Trinity by Sunday, December 3rd.
The Rainbow Covenant emphasis for November is ChildServ. It is an organization that began in 1894 as the Methodist Deaconess Orphanage and later was named the Lake Bluff Home for Children. Today, ChildServ is a highly experienced, multidisciplinary child and family services network reaching children and families facing adversity in four Illinois counties: Cook, DuPage, Kane and Lake. Their community-based programs focus on improving the lives of vulnerable children and their families, foster parents and other caregivers. ChildServ reaches 3,000 at-risk children and families annually. Programs include foster care and adoption, group homes, child care, early childhood education and parenting support, military and veteran family support, and healthy life-style information.

Altar Flowers are provided by different individuals and groups each week. To sponsor flowers in honor or memory of a loved one, contact Connie in the church office. $20 donations may be placed in an envelope marked “Altar Flowers”.
Annual Christmas Wreath Sale: Boy Scout Troop #117 Order forms are now in the Narthex. Orders and payments can be dropped off in the office no later than November 6th. Pick up will be November 26th after the 10:30 am service. Thank you for your continued support of Troop #117.
