Christmas Offering

In this holy season, we remember God’s gift of love made known in Jesus Christ. To be directed to a secure way to give a special Christmas offering securely on our website, click here.  You may also find special envelopes in the pew racks on Sunday. Thank you for giving with a spirit of hope and gratitude this Advent season.

Emergency Solidarity Fund

In these difficult days, it has become increasingly dangerous for our Hispanic/Latine neighbors to leave their homes—including for work, which results in lost pay; to take children to their school bus stops; to shop for groceries; and to attend worship services.

To provide some relief, Bishop Schwerin has established an Emergency Solidarity Fund. It will assist primarily Hispanic/Latine people (but also other immigrants) who are increasingly vulnerable. Gifts from this fund will help people with whom our churches directly minister and those in our towns and neighborhoods. https://www.umcnic.org/SolidarityFund

Offering plate (or online – link above) giving with a note that it is for the Bishop’s Emergency Solidarity Fund will also work.  Thank you for your consideration.

Kids Above All Holiday Gift Drive

Mission Moment for November:  Kids Above All

(Mission Giving Envelopes in the Pews)

Our mission emphasis for November is Kids Above All. Since 1894 they have been building better lives for children and families impacted by poverty, violence and injustice. It started as the Methodist Deaconess Orphanage (later as Lake Bluff Home for Children). Today, it is a highly experienced, multidisciplinary child and family services network reaching children and families facing adversity in Cook, DuPage, Kane and Lake counties.  Their focus is to improve the lives of vulnerable children and their families, foster parents, and other caregivers.  Programs include foster care and adoption, group homes, child care, early childhood education and parenting support, military and veteran family support, and healthy life-style information.    www.kidsaboveall.org

Trinity has participated in Kids Above All’s Holiday Gift Drive for the past 8 years.  If you would like to sponsor a child and make their holiday wishes come true, come to church on Sunday, November 16th and pick out a name. Kids Above All will be providing gifts to about 1,600 children, youth and young adults this year. We will have 35 names to choose from, ages 1to 10 years old.

Ways to serve in mission to KAA during November and December:

1.    Monetary donation,  2.    Buy a gift for a child,  3.    Volunteer to wrap gifts at KAA’s Better Life Distribution Center in Des Plaines on Tuesday December 9th.    For more information contact Lois at 847-346-9709.
