Latest 2025 Disaster Responses

On July 4, 2025, historic rain levels led to catastrophic flash flooding along the Guadalupe River in Central Texas. As of July 9, at least 110 people have died, including 27 campers and counselors from Camp Mystic, an all-girls summer camp in Hunt, Texas.

In response, UMCOR has awarded a solidarity grant to the Rio Texas Annual Conference to support their relief efforts. This grant will provide immediate relief to those impacted through Early Response Team deployment, debris removal, distribution of relief supplies and more. Continue to pray for those who have lost loved ones and for all who have been impacted by this devastating disaster. The Rio Texas Annual Conference has created prayer and worship resources for United Methodist congregations to use to respond to this disaster. Download the resources here >

This Month’s Mission Moment:  Mujila Falls Agriculture Center, Zambia

Addressing hunger and poverty with sustainable agriculture and leadership training. Global Ministries is working with the Lunda people of extreme North West Zambia. They have the highest infant mortality rates and lowest life expectancy of all tribes in Zambia. The greatest need is to improve protein, vitamin and mineral content in the local diet and help families to increase incomes so they can provide for schooling, medical care, clothing, additional foods, etc. You may choose to give here (indicate Mujila in Note field), or in the pew mission envelopes.
